Adhesive bonding processes can be severely compromised by the presence of air inclusions in the bead and by air-induced system elasticities during stop-and-go operations. Ensuring that a cartridge is filled in an air-free manner, and remains air-free during storage, is essential to avoid these effects. The optimization of maintaining long-term high-quality material, even when stored for extended periods, begins with the correct filling process and piston setting for storage and transportation.

medmix Switzerland AG has been named a winner in the 2024 BIG Sustainability Awards presented by the Business Intelligence Group. This achievement complements the company's BIG Innovation Award in January 2024 for its MIXPAC™ greenLine™ 400 mL 1:1 two-component cartridge set.
We are thrilled to share that on August 21, 2024, we welcomed 15 esteemed dentists from Brazil to our Haag facility! The day was packed with insightful presentations, hands-on experiences, and engaging discussions.
As already mentioned above, two-component adhesives are being used more and more because of their special properties and static mixers are the most frequent choice of device for mixing the two-component material before application.
Depending on the material to mix and the pre-defined application, different mixer characteristics are of particular importance. This chapter focuses on characteristics which describe the properties of the mixer itself (mixer specific characteristics) rather than the application system as a whole (system specific characteristics).
When selecting the optimum static mixer, the rheological properties of the starting components and their mixing ratio play an important role. In particular, highly viscous materials with a high proportion of fillers often have a pronounced non-Newtonian behavior. Therefore, a good understanding of the rheological behavior of the components to be mixed is important.
For mixing 2K materials, the use of static mixers is generally the preferred choice, as they are simple in design, easy to use and relatively inexpensive. In some cases, however, static mixers do not provide the required mixing performance. Dynamic mixers offer an alternative solution for applications where either very high mixing quality or a solution for rheological demanding materials is required.
Flow simulations or CFD (Computational fluid dynamics) is an established procedure to analyze and solve problems that involve fluid flows with the help of computers. With this method it is possible to examine the internal or external flow field of a product virtually before a first prototype has been produced.
In the world of endodontics, precision and safety are paramount. One of the key tools in an endodontist’s arsenal is the irrigation needle.

In today’s competitive landscape, customers demand advanced solutions that offer precision, consistency, and efficiency. medmix, a pioneer in mixing technology, provides state-of-the-art one- and two-component mixing systems, specially designed to meet the high demands of the dental industry.
Consistent and Efficient Mixing with Static Technology.
Understanding material rheology—how materials flow and behave—is crucial for optimal mixing results. We employ rheological principles to design mixers that handle a wide range of viscosities and flow behaviors.
For applications where traditional static mixing may fall short—particularly with high-viscosity or highly reactive materials—dynamic mixers offer an ideal solution.
To stay at the forefront of innovation, medmix integrates Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations into its development process.
